Jaydee Paino
Celebrated fashionsta Jaydee Paino is the new face of the 2011 Cairns Amateurs Carnival.
Jaydee, 25, of Cairns, has been appointed as Ambassador for the region’s premier social networking event.
Jaydee’s eye and talent for fashion saw her scoop the pool in the fashions of the field competitions during the spring racing season.
She bought an $18 dress featuring a horse print over the internet from Nashville, Tennessee. Along with friend Nigel Vogler, a very talented up and coming TAFE fashion and design student, they redesigned the dress into a vintage full skirt masterpiece. Her Magnificent 1950’s Beret Style headpiece was made by the wonderful Bernice Patton of High Society by Bernice, a Cairns based milliner.
Her haul of awards began at the 2010 Amateurs – where she won fashions on the field – continued at Brisbane and then culminated at the Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne when she beat almost 1000 other contestants at the Oaks Day fashion competition.
Jaydee collected $100,000 in prizes including a new Lexus for her efforts and attracted publicity across the nation.
