The relaxed under cover setting of The Garden Party allows members of the public the opportunity to purchase tickets for an area that provides reserved seating and table serviced meals located just a short walk to the finishing line. This area has been enlarged in 2010 to accommodate a 1000sqm marquee and a Sponsors Cocktail Area under the shade trees.
The Fashions on the Field preliminary and final judging occurs within this area. Guests of the Garden Party have prime viewing of the catwalk as all entrants are judged. This area is one of the first areas to sell out at the Carnival.
The Garden Party operates on both days of racing at the Carnival, catering for 600 each day. Patrons in 2010 will be treated to their very own powder room. The Fashions on the Field is a highly anticipated and hotly contested event each year with entrants coming from as far afield as New Zealand as well as local and interstate competitors. Each year judges from across the spectrum of Australian fashion and media cast expert eyes over the entrants. Their presence creates an event of style, contemporary trends and elegance.
This year we have recognised the need to look after our very generous sponsors in a manner unlike previous years. With this in mind we have organised a Sponsors Cocktail Area in the most sought after location within The Garden Party under the shade trees.
