- Dress Codes
In keeping with the Tropical Spring theme of the Cairns Amateurs, dress codes for the Members Area are less formal than many southern race courses, but standards are still expected to be maintained by all who frequent the area. Many men wear a suit and tie, however a button up shirt with suit trousers is also acceptable. Women wear an array of styles, however all keep the theme of Spring race wear in mind when choosing an outfit for the Carnival. Members & Guests Passes for the appropriate year must be visible and worn at all times.
For General Admission to Cannon Park, we request that all patrons attending the race course dress in a respectable manner.
At the Club Dinner, the dress code Black Tie, with a suit and tie the minimum requirement for men. All attendees are requested to maintain the standard of this gala event. For the President’s Cocktails, the dress code is, and the name suggests, Cocktail attire. The AGM is a more casual affair. The Fashion Parade Brunch on the Thursday of the Carnival provides an opportunity for those attending to showcase hats, fascinators, dresses, suits and other daywear ensembles that suit the nature of the function.
Members are reminded of their responsibility to ensure the attire of their guests at all functions, including the Club Dinner, is appropriate.
