- Owners & Trainers Function

Each year, to celebrate the start of the Carnival, the Cairns Amateurs holds a “welcome function” for all owners and trainers entering horses in the race days. This event is an informal gathering designed to bring together those involved in the racing side of the Carnival as guests of the FNQATC Committee Members at a complimentary BBQ. A guest speaker is present and all local and visiting owners and trainers are invited to attend. The details are:

Access to Track and Facilities

Owners, trainers, jockeys and associated staff are able to access to the race track at Cannon Park in the week leading up to the Carnival by contacting the Cairns Jockey Club on (07) 4054 1203 or email michaelstewart@cairnsjockeyclub.com.au

Owner Entitlements

As an owner of a horse entered into the Cairns Amateurs Carnival, you are entitled to entry to the race meeting however we ask that you pay entrance at the gate and present your ticket, and proof of ownership, to the Secretary’s office on site at Cannon Park for reimbursement.
