Tuesday 29 August 2023. Cairns Amateurs has upped the glamour stakes for its Gordon’s Pink Jubilee Fashion High Tea which will launch its 65th spring carnival on Thursday 7 September with a fashionable celebration and sell-out attendance of 500 guests on the waterfront.
Cairns Amateurs Carnival President David Goodman welcomes back Gordon’s Pink as naming sponsor while returning fashion partner Myer Cairns will feature key pieces from its Spring/Summer ‘23 collections along with millinery from Mel Ferrero and Sonlia in an exciting fashion parade showcase curated by leading Cairns stylist, Pip Addison.
“It is great to have Gordon’s Pink present this very popular event that each year draws a wonderful turnout of ladies and gents for high tea and much merriment warming into our two-day racing carnival.
“Guests will see plenty of pink and spring-inspired theming in keeping with Gordon’s Pink branding, along with high tea goodies from Ochre catering,” Mr Goodman said.
Adding to the mix of incredible fashion, and entertainment, experienced media personality emcee, Tammy Barker will guide guests throughout proceedings including how to win valuable prizes including a beautifully crafted pair of sapphire earrings or pendant from local bespoke jeweller, The Diamond Hunter.
Adding to the event’s hotly contested ‘Lady of the Day’ and ‘Best Millinery’ competitions, judged by Myer Cairns Manager, Sharon Taylor, and Kathryn Lee of Kathryn Lee Millinery in Sydney, is ‘Ambassador’s Choice’ chosen by special guest and Carnival Ambassador for 2023, Emma Scodellaro.
Cairns Amateurs Carnival’s fundraising partner for 2023, Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation (FNQHF) will have a strong presence with team members selling tickets in a giant raffle including a 2-night luxury getaway at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort in Port Douglas, trips to the reef, a family photoshoot, gift cards and more.
The Gordon’s Pink Jubilee Fashion High Tea is being held on the Eastern Events Lawn of Cairns Esplanade from 11 am to 2 pm on Thursday 7 September.

Arguably the North’s most glamorous black tie event set in a waterfront marquee under the moonlight, Cairns Esplanade Eastern Events Lawn. You’ll be treated to an indulgent 3-course dinner, prepared by the award-winning Ochre Restaurant while enjoying premium beverages. Then dance the night away to captivating live music performances and the piece de resistance, a spectacular fireworks display.
